Visit to Andernos

TWO STUDENTS FROM NADUR IN A COMENIUS PROJECT
Together with our teacher Mrs. Camilleri we left Gozo on Friday the 11th of October,2004 and travelled to the town of Andernos in France on a Comenius project . Seven countries were taking part in the project in which several topics were discussed. This year we would be discussing the problems facing students in their transition from post-secondary to tertiary education.
We left Gozo for Malta with the 5.45am helicopter. We flew to Paris and then further to Bordeaux from where we were taken to the small town of Andernos. The temperature there was ten degrees whereas in Malta it was around twenty degrees! We went immediately to the school hosting the project meeting. There one of us was interviewed by a French newspaper and afterwards we met the families who would be our hosts. On Saturday, we had an important project meeting in the morning and then in the evening we had dinner together with the French and Italian students. On Sunday morning , we had a boat trip in the nearby bay and in the afternoon we had excursions in the area. On Monday, we had a long period of project activity in school. Tuesday was a day of travelling and we had to take three planes to get home to Malta.
Everything was centred on the two project meetings we had on Saturday the 16th and Monday the 18th of October. The topic on Saturday was conditions in the participating schools. Representatives from each country spoke and our teacher, Mrs. Camilleri represented Malta. On Monday we had another meeting at which we presented the charts we had made in Gozo, giving information about our school, Sir M.A. Refalo. After that the students separated into workgroups in which we put up the exhibition of charts and interviewed French students about their opinion of their school system. There were students from Austria, France, Germany, Hungary,Italy, Slovakia and of course Malta.
Apart from these two meetings there were several educational visits. For example, we went for a boat trip in the bay and saw several very picturesque oystermens’ villages around it. We also went into the city of Bordeaux. There we saw the river and also the gothic-style cathedral. We also went into the forest and explored the area by bicycle.
For us, this was a wonderful experience. Not only did we visit a very beautiful country, but we learned a lot about other countries and we met students from other countries.

ZWEI SCHÜLER AUS NADUR IN EINEM COMENIUS PROJEKT
Zusammen mit unserer Lehrerin, Frau Camilleri reisten wir an Freitag den 11. Oktober von Gozo nach Andernos, Frankreich. Mehrere Länder sollten an einem Comenius Projekt teilnehmen, wo wir verschiedene Themen besprechen sollten. Dieses Jahr sollten wir die Probleme der Schüler beim Übergang von der gymniasialen Oberstufe zur Hochschule besprechen.
Wir flogen von Gozo um 5.45 mit dem Hubschrauber nach Malta. Wir flogen zuerst nach Paris und dann weiter nach Bordeaux. Von Bordeaux holte man uns für die Fahrt in die Kleinstadt Andernos ab. Die Temperatur stand um 10 Grad; in Malta war es 20 Grad! Wir gingen direkt in die Schule, wo die Projektaktivitäten stattfinden sollten. Einer von uns beiden wurde von einer Journalistin für eine französischen Zeitung interviewt und dann trafen wir die Familien , die uns beherbergen sollten. Am Samstag morgen gab es ein wichtiges Projekttreffen und dann am Samstag abend kamen wir mit französischen und italienischen Schülern zum Essen zusammen. Am Sonntag morgen machten wir einen Ausflug auf der Bucht und am Nachmittag besichgten wir die Gegend. Am Montag blieben wir langefür Projektaktivitäten in der Schule. Am Dienstag mussten wir abreisen. Wir mussten drei Flüge machen um nach Malta zurückzukehren.
Der wichtigste Teil des Projekts war die zwei Prokekttreffen am Samstag und am Montag . Am Samstag sollte jede Schule das Schulsystem in ihrem Land einführen. Vertreter aus jedem Land machten eine Präsentation und unsere Lehrerin Mrs. Camilleri repräsentierte Malta. Beim zweiten Treffen am Montag zeigten wir die Plakate über unsere Schule Sir M.A. Refalo, die wir in Gozo schon gemacht hatten. Danach teilte man die Schüler in Arbeitsgruppen, wo wir eine Ausstellung mit Plakaten vorbereiteten. Wir interviewten die französischen Schüler über ihre Meinung vom französischen Schulsystem. Die Schüler kamen aus Österreich, Frankreich, Deutschland, Ungarn, Italien, Slovakien und natürlich aus Malta.
Wir machten auch einige Studienfahrten. Wir machten zum Beispiel eine Bootfahrt auf der Bucht, die von den bilderbuchhaften Dörfern der Austernzüchter umringt wird. Wir besichtigten die Großstadt Bordeaux mit ihrem Fluss und ihrem gothischen Dom. Wir gingen auch in den Wald und radelten in der Gegend.
Für uns war diese Reise ein wunderbares Erlebnis. Nicht nur sahen wir ein fabelhaftes Land, sondern wir lernten viel über andere Länder und lernten Schüler aus verschiedenen Nationen kennen. |
